Job Description

The Department of Management in the Sobey School of Business at Saint Mary's University invites applications for a tenure-track position at the Assistant Professor level. The ideal candidate?s primary teaching and research expertise will be in Human Resource Management and Industrial Relations (HRM/IR). To contribute to the development of the HRM/IR program we are especially interested in candidates with expertise in Human Resource Management specializations (e.g., HR planning, performance evaluation, and organizational change and development). The successful candidate will hold a PhD, or ABD status with the dissertation near completion, in one of these or related areas. Candidates must have strong quantitative, methodological/analytical skills, and show potential for research productivity and teaching excellence. The successful applicant will be able to teach at both the undergraduate and graduate levels in addition to conducting and supervising research that contributes to the School?s MBA and PhD programs.

The Sobey School of Business at Saint Mary's University is a balanced teaching/research institution and it has the largest business program in the Atlantic provinces. The Sobey School of Business offers AACSB accredited degrees at the undergraduate, masters and PhD levels. The Management Department consists of 20 full-time faculty members who deliver core courses to both the Undergraduate and MBA programs in the Sobey School of Business. The Management Department also delivers courses contributing to the majors in Entrepreneurship, Human Resource Management/Industrial Relations, Global Business Management, and Management. The PhD in Management, the Master of Management Co-operative and Credit Unions, and the certificate program in Human Resource Management are also located in the Management Department.
