John T. Dunlop Outstanding Scholar Award - Tue, 01/15/2013 - 5:00pm

The John T. Dunlop Outstanding Scholar Awards were established to recognize outstanding academic research by recent entrants to the field.  Nominations for the Awards will be accepted in two categories: 1. One award will recognize the research contribution of an academic for the best contribution to international and/or comparative labor and employment research, and 2. A second award will recognize the best contribution to research that addresses an industrial relations/employment problem of national significance.

Susan C. Eaton Outstanding Scholar-Practitioner Award - Tue, 01/15/2013 - 5:00pm

The LERA Awards Committee announces a call for nominations for an award in honor of Susan C. Eaton, scholar and practitioner. The award is given annually to a member of LERA who has distinguished themselves as both a practitioner and a scholar/researcher in the Employment Relations or related fields.

Susan C. Eaton Scholar-Practitioner Project Award—$3,000 Grant - Tue, 01/15/2013 - 5:00pm

The Awards Committee for the Susan C. Eaton Scholar-Practitioner Memorial Fund has issued a call for proposals for a $3,000 grant to be awarded in June 2013 to a practitioner engaged in a scholarly research project in the labor and employment relations or related field. Only LERA members are eligible to submit a proposal for the Committee to consider.

James G. Scoville Best International Paper Award—$500 Cash Prize - Tue, 01/15/2013 - 5:00pm

LERA has announced a call for international and comparative employment issues papers for consideration of a new “best paper” award. The Award has been established in conjunction with the Industrial Relations Center at the University of Minnesota to honor retiring professor and long-time member of the LERA, James G. Scoville.

The Scoville Best Papers Award, awarded for the best contributed paper on international and comparative employment issues, offers an annual cash prize of $500 and a plaque. The inaugural award was made in January 2011 at the LERA Annual Meeting.

LERA Outstanding Practitioner Award - Tue, 01/15/2013 - 5:00pm

LERA is accepting nominations for the Outstanding Practitioner award. This Annual award is made to a practitioner for outstanding contributions to the employment relations profession consistent with the values and the mission of the LERA. Nominations may include union or management side practitioners, mediators, arbitrators, professionals from government, the press or anyone in the field working/practicing in a non-academic setting.
