SUMMARY OF DUTIES:
The Director of Labor Relations is responsible for, negotiation, interpretation and implementation of national labor agreements. Acts as final appeals officer, responding to all appealed claims and grievances at the final level, including arbitration, if necessary, arising out of the interpretation or application of those agreements. This position is also responsible for:
Negotiation of labor agreements with Labor Representatives, including in major “wage and rule” cycles as needed to meet Amtrak’s needs.
Must have a Bachelors degree in Business Administration or an equivalent combination of work experience, training, and education.
Must have extensive work experience in the labor relations field and experience in labor negotiations, advocacy and dispute resolution. Must have the ability to supervise and effectively manage contract interpretation disputes and implementation of agreement rules. Must have the ability to interact with senior management in addressing policy and strategic issues. Other experience includes:
Salary range $90, 000 - $136,000
