The Montana State Office of Labor Relations is looking for an experienced Labor Relations Specialist. Our labor relations specialists provide collective bargaining and other labor-management relations services to executive branch agencies. 

The incumbent negotiates collective bargaining agreements for designated state bargaining units; represents agency management as chief spokesperson in collective bargaining sessions by implementing strategies, presenting proposals and counter proposals; researches, analyzes information and consults with agency management to develop proposals, counter proposals and strategies used in negotiations; represents management at mediation and fact-finding; prepares briefs and petitions arguing management’s position before the board of personnel appeals; develops responses to unfair labor practice charges and represents management in ULP hearings; provides advice and assistance in handling grievances and researches, prepares and presents management’s case in arbitrations; participates in strike management by maintaining liaison between management and labor; develops and provides training and assistance to managers in contract interpretation and administration and other aspects of labor management relations.
