The 2012 LERA Annual Meeting will be held in Chicago, IL, January 6-8, 2012 at The Palmer House® Hilton Hotel. The Preconference Day is January 5, 2012 and will be filled with special programs, meetings, and workshops.
This 64th LERA Annual Meeting will again be held in conjunction with the ASSA/AEA (American Economics Association). Consequently, registration and hotel accommodations will be addressed online at the ASSA website. Registration opened on September 13, 2011. The most up-to-date information about registration and housing can always be found at the ASSA/AEA Annual Meeting Webpage, which you can find here: http://www.aeaweb.org/Annual_Meeting/index.php.

Regular earlybird registration for the 2012 ASSA Annual Meeting is $65 before December 1, and be sure to mark "LERA" on your registration form. Note: you must register before you will be able to take advantage of the deeply discounted hotel room rates (of about $99 per night) at The Palmer House Hilton® and you must complete the LERA Packet Pickup Form if you want to pick up your badge and registration packet at the Palmer House.
2. Reserve your hotel room (if needed) - http://registration3.experient-inc.com/showALL121/Default.aspxAs soon as you register, you will receive an email from assa@vanderbilt.edu that will contain a 5-digit housing code. Once you receive this code, proceed to the housing form listed here and reserve your room. The LERA hotel is the Palmer House Hilton. THE ASSA HAS CLOSED ITS ONLINE HOTEL RESERVATION SYSTEM. Please visit the ASSA/AEA Annual Meeting home page for complete details on how to make new reservation if you need one.
3. Submit your packet pickup form - http://leraweb.org/meeting/lera-64th-annual-meeting/lera-packet-pickup-form
To avoid standing in a line of thousands of other ASSA/AEA registrants at another hotel, please submit your packet pickup form, and the ASSA/AEA will release your packet materials to us. You will be able to pick these up at the LERA registration desk ONLY if you submit this packet pickup form.

LERA Committees and Executive Board meetings — scheduled throughout the day. If you serve on a LERA Committee or wish to, schedule your travel plans to include Thursday. Committee meetings begin at 10:00 and run throughout the day. Check the online program to determine when and where your committee will meet. |
ASSA Welcome Reception — 6 to 7:30 pm Those who pre-register are invited to attend the Annual ASSA Welcome Reception at the Hyatt. Your free drink coupon, available when you RSVP on the pre-registration form for the reception, will be with your registration packet. Heavy hors d’oeuvres, live entertainment, and door prizes are just a sample of what to expect. |
AFL-CIO Breakfast — 7 to 8 am A continental-style breakfast and plenary be held at The Palmer House® on Saturday morning, featuring a major guest speaker. |
Sessions til Noon on Sunday — 8 am to 12:15 pm Don't book your ticket to leave Chicago until you have reviewed the strong programs offered on Sunday morning. You can leave by noon and still catch a plane home. |

LERA Industry Council and selected Interest Section Meetings — scheduled throughout the day. If you have signed up for an Industry Council, be sure to travel in time to attend your Council's meeting and programs on the Pre-conference Day. The LERA International and Comparative IR Interest Section will also be holding their annual Section meeting and Program on Thursday. Check the online program for details. |
LERA and Joint Universities' Welcome Reception — 6 to 7:30 pm A reception for LERA participants, alumni, and friends will be held at The Palmer House® following the Distinguished Speaker Plenary. Hors d’oeuvres will be served and a cash bar will be available. Connect with awardees, alumni and colleagues. The Reception is sponsored by the IR/HR schools and centers at the Cornell University, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, MIT, Penn State University, Rutgers University, UCLA, Michigan State University, University of Toronto, and Univ. of Rhode Island. |
LERA Presidential Luncheon — 12:30 to 2:15 pm The LERA Presidential Luncheon will feature LERA President Gordon R. Pavy, AFL-CIO and honor a Lifetime Achievement Awardee. This popular event usually sells out, so be sure to reserve your seat on your ASSA registration form. |

LERA General Membership Meeting and Awards Ceremony — 6 to 7 pm The LERA General Membership Meeting and Awards Ceremony, chaired by LERA President Gordon R. Pavy, will allow member to discuss Association business. Immediately following will be the presentation of LERA Awards. |
