NYU School of Law's Center for Labor and Employment Law adn US-Asia Law Institute will be hosting a Research Conference on the Chinese Labor Market.

The conference will take place May 11-12, 2012 in New York.

This interdisciplinary conference will cover:

  • Change and Variation in Wages and Working Conditions
  • Migrant Workers' Rights and Working Conditions
  • Trends in Labor Unrest and Protests
  • Democracy in the Grassroots ACTU Chapters
  • Collective Bargaining and Consultation
  • The Impact of International Law and Global Civil Society

Those wishing to present are asked to submit their CV, a copy of a representative publication, and a 2-5 pg. precis of the paper, including a description of the sources of data.  These should be sent no later than December 15, 2011 to the Labor Center's administrator Torrey Whitman via email at torrey.whitman@nyu.edu.  Torrey can also be reached at 212-992-8103.
