Section Nominations
The Section bylaws provide for a nominating committee composed of the Past-Chair and two Board members to present a slate of candidates for election as officers and members of the Board to the annual business meeting which will take place Sunday, January 4, 1998, 8:00 am at the IRRA annual meeting.
Any additional nominations supported by at least five Section members may be submitted to the Section Secretary, Maria Ontiveros, in advance of the business meeting. If you would like to propose a panel for the January 1999 IRRA Annual Meeting, your proposal must be in to the National Offices December 1, 1997. The Labor and Employment Law Section would especially like to encourage panels that incorporate or focus on legal issues and their interrelationship with collective bargaining, economics, and other issues. Maria Hylton has just finished a new casebook entitled "Cases and Materials on Employee Benefits" (coauthored with Lorraine Schmall of Northern Illinois) which West plans to bring out this coming Spring. She is also working on an article about the recent Microsoft and Intermodal cases, and another on the use of race by insurers to manage risk.
